Community Resources Inc. is a 501(c)(3) educational non-profit that has served the students, families, and staff of Denver and Denver Public Schools since 1972. The goal of our organization is to enhance the education of students utilizing hundreds of volunteers from the Denver community who share their time, knowledge and enthusiasm. Each year CRI creates and coordinates thousands of programs that reach over 90,000 student contacts.

Programs Offered by CRI

  • Academic Mentors
  • Matches motivated students, 5th—8th grades, with professionals from the community to study a topic/career in depth. Examples of topics include aerospace, opera, law, computer science and veterinary medicine.


  • Classroom Speakers
  • A curriculum enhancement opportunity that brings knowledgeable community members into the classroom to share their passion and help learning come alive. More than 700 different presentations are available from art to zoology.


  • Family Nights
  • An innovative evening program that creates fun family learning events that engage parents and kids. Events include Family Reading, Math, Science, Art, Multicultural Health & Wellness, and Colorado History Nights and more.


  • Special Events
  • Programs and events custom-designed to meet the needs of individual schools. *Types of events are Career Fairs, Science Fairs, Colorado History Day, Health Fairs, Writers Workshops and Science Days.
